About Christ Church
Christ Church Chilwell is an Anglican church – part of the Church of England – and belongs within the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
We are part of the Nottingham South Deanery.
The Bishop for the Diocese is Paul Butler, who is supported by the Suffragen Bishop, Tony Porter.
The church is in the parish of Chilwell and there are 17,000 people who live in the parish. Our primary responsibility is to the people who live in this parish.
In 1959 Christ Church established St Barnabas Inham Nook to serve the Inham Nook estate, and we have strong links with St Barnabas Inham Nook where Lillian Heptinstall is the Associate Priest.
We also have links with St Barnabas Lenton Abbey – links which began in 2009, and we are very pleased that our recent curate, Jenny Corcoran is now the Associate Priest.
The vicar of Christ Church, Chilwell, Alan Howe, is Priest in Charge for both St Barnabas Inham Nook and St Barnabas Lenton Abbey.
Christ Church Chilwell is fortunate to have a staff team to support the work of the church and employs:
-
Pastoral Worker – Fran Beedell
-
Administrator – Kerry Broadley
-
Operations Manager – Charles Hume
-
Site Manager – John Gibb
We also work with other churches in Chilwell and Beeston and the organisation that co-ordinates our working together is called Hope NG9 (which is part of Hope Nottingham)
