Giving for Life 2012
If you can, listen to my sermon from May 13th via the link below. In it I describe
how grateful we are for the sacrificial giving of so many church members and supporters.
This year we are looking for an additional £10,000 to finance our regular work and
to move forward in children’s work, youth work and the launch of a new mid-week
service. What that means in practical terms is an extra 5p for every £1 you currently
give. If you give through gift aid it immediately becomes worth 20% more at no cost
to you.
As last year some people find that the way they receive their income makes it easier
to give a lump sum for a particular project. Or you might want to make an additional
offering if God has blessed you in some way. This can also be gift aided.
The sums listed below may be larger than you are able to make alone but we are happy
to receive money toward these projects. For example four people could give £250
toward children’s furniture.
Opportunities to enable specific projects
- Main and small hall decoration (£3500)
- Hall toilets refurbishment (£2500)
- Church live video (£1000)
- Replacement for SongPro (£350)
- AV equipment for Hall (£1000)
- Children's Furniture (£1000)
- IT equipment for office (£1000)
Please take the leaflet from church and pray about your response or download the
response slip from the website. If you are able return it for our gift weekend on
May 27th or at any time via the office.
Thinking about the future.
As I always say the best is yet to come for us as Christian people. It may be that
like Hilary and I you want to make a provision for the local church and other causes
you support in your will. As a church we always use legacies for particular projects.
Churches and charities benefit greatly from this and it might be something to pray
about as you make your 2012 review of giving. Love and prayers: Rev Canon Alan Howe.
