Christ Church is a large family
church, situated in Chilwell, Nottingham. There are three congregations, each
with a different flavour. The 9am is more traditional with hymns, liturgy
and Holy Communion most weeks. The 10.30am service is family orientated with
children's groups and regular all-age services. The 7pm service is more informal
with lively worship.
Christ Church is a resource to both
the local community and other churches in terms of premises, time, skills and
money.
St Barnabas is known in the community as ‘the light on
the hill'. The church was consecrated in 1957 to serve the newly developed
Inham Nook council estate.
In many ways, we are the 'parish church' of the
estate, from which around 50% of the congregation is drawn. We have an
Associate Minister, Curate, District Church Council, electoral roll and
parish share, although legal responsibility for the church lies with the
Vicar and PCC of the Parish of Chilwell.
We offer a welcome to everyone. We meet to hear what
Jesus told us and seek to follow His teaching in our daily lives.
On Sunday the 10:30am service uses Common Worship and
is the main church family service. On two Sunday mornings in the month Holy
Communion is celebrated.
We offer our church facilities to all who wish to use
them. We seek to have a reputation for caring for our neighbours as well as
ourselves.
Pathway is best described as a satellite congregation,
planted out from Christchurch
just over ten years ago. Our main gathering is on Sunday mornings at 10.30
at the Inham Nook Methodist building on Pearson Ave,
in the Inham Nook area of the parish.
During our Sunday mornings together we run a full
children’s programme as well as a crèche.
You will find plenty more information about Pathway as
well as some recent talks available for free download directly from our website.
So please head there if you would like to know more. Or of course just drop by
on a Sunday, we’d love to see you.
