Prayer

Prayer is central to everything we do here at Christ Church. As well as the praying that goes on in our small groups week by week we also meet regularly as a whole church once every half term to worship together, pray and share together.

Prayer Ministry

At Christ Church, we offer healing prayer at all three of our services, and also, prayer ministry teams can, on request, go to homes during the week. We like to think that we are available for prayer as much as possible. The staff are always willing to pray with those who need it, and we encourage small groups to pray for one another every time they meet.

We encourage people to come forward for prayer in response to words of knowledge, or pictures given to them by the Holy Spirit, or because they are in any kind of physical, mental or emotional pain or need. We love to pray with folk to receive the blessings and gifts of the Holy Spirit, and we are more than happy to pray for loved ones or those God has put on their hearts.

The prayer teams meet regularly to pray together and encourage one another, as well as meeting before each service to wait on God. The teams are run on a rota basis, and there is regular training offered whether here in Chilwell, or at other churches.

Prayer Meeting Wednesdays 7am - 7.30am

A small group meets in the upper room in Christ Church every Wednesday morning. We exist to pray for the church, the church leadership and events happening in the community that the church is involved in. God speaks to us quite a lot, and we regularly get pictures or words of knowledge/prophecy for the church or individuals.

The meeting is very focussed on prayer - we don't do much chatting at that time in the morning! The prayers each week are guided by a bible passage. We welcome new members. If people want to bring their breakfast and stay afterwards till about 7.45am, then go onto work, they are welcome to do so.
